Web Developer

Location: Rancho Cordova, CA


Our Rancho Cordova, California, team is seeking a web developer to assist with new and ongoing web projects.

The web developer will be an integral part of Michael Baker’s web team, using a variety of content management systems, mainly Kentico and WordPress, to craft and hand over small and large websites for agencies and municipalities. The web developer may be involved in all steps of our process from providing technical input on prototypes, responsive wireframes, and interactive element boards to building master pages, templates, and custom page types. The web developer will assist or take a lead in crafting custom database solutions, ecommerce/online bill pay, data-driven maps, online learning modules, and anything else that our clients need. The web developer will also assist in server, systems, and domain maintenance and management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, code, and test web applications using C#, PHP, SQL
  • Develop extensible templates, responsive layouts, widgets, custom content types, and reports in CMSs
  • Assist in scoping new web projects and developing innovative solutions for clients
  • Remain up to date on current best practices, techniques, and technologies in order to make recommendations
  • Participate in all aspects of website development as part of the web team
  • Create, maintain, and update existing Android and iOS applications

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience

Senior Environmental Project Manager

Location: Rancho Cordova, CA

We have an immediate need for a Senior Environmental Project Manager with transportation planning and extensive CEQA/NEPA experience to join our team in Rancho Cordova, CA.

Transportation planning project experience should include transportation improvement, regional transportation plans and related studies, roadway widening, roadway extension, new interchange construction, interchange reconstruction, bridge replacement, rehabilitation projects, and other capital improvement, infrastructure, and public works projects.  Candidate must have experience in working with Caltrans, Federal Highway Administration, metropolitan transportation organizations, and other related agencies.  Knowledge of the Caltrans project oversight process is a must, and consulting experience is preferred. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, directing and overseeing preparation of CEQA and NEPA documents, coordinating with biology team to acquire resource agency permits for projects, and directing staff in the research, collection and analysis of data.  Additional duties will include business development, client management, coordinating and participating in project presentations to clients, the public, and other external groups, adherence to budgets and timelines, management and peer review of subcontractor work, and all other aspects of project management. Candidate must possess working knowledge of state and federal regulatory permitting requirements and have first-hand experience in the preparation of environmental documentation in compliance with CEQA/NEPA. 

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelors or graduate degree in planning, environmental studies, or closely related field with a minimum of 5 years project management experience as well as a minimum of 3 years of professional environmental planning experience.
