Assistant Environmental Scientist

Our firm specializes in providing municipal consulting services including, but not limited to, agency staffing, conservation planning and biological services, environmental, public finance, housing and community development, urban planning, sustainability and climate change, and creative services.  We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Environmental Scientist to work in our Rancho Cordova, California, office.

Responsibilities will include assisting with environmental planning and compliance activities, compiling and analyzing technical information to support evidence-based environmental impact analyses, conducting general site surveys, conducting data research and analyses, developing sections of environmental documents including those required by NEPA and CEQA, and assisting with a variety of other projects.
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelors or graduate degree in environmental science or closely related field, excellent oral and written communication skills, exemplary research skills, ability to work well independently and as part of a team, and the desire to learn the complex environmental procedures associated with transportation projects.

Environmental Planner

Responsibilities will include assisting with environmental planning and compliance activities, compiling and analyzing technical information to support evidence-based environmental impact analyses, conducting general site surveys, conducting data research and analyses, developing sections of environmental documents including those required by NEPA and CEQA, and assisting with a variety of other projects.

Qualified candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, basic knowledge of planning and CEQA/NEPA, ability to work well independently and as part of a team, and be comfortable speaking publically and under pressure.  Experience working at a public agency is preferred, but not required.

Planner Positions Contract Staffing California

Our firm specializes in providing municipal consulting services including, but not limited to agency staffing, conservation planning and biological services, environmental, public finance, housing and community development, urban planning, sustainability and climate change, and creative services. We currently have on-going Full-Time, Part-Time and Limited Assignment positions for Senior, Associate and Assistant Planners to serve jurisdictions throughout California.

Responsibilities will vary based upon the planning position, but may include general plan preparation and amendments, reviewing planning applications, municipal code revisions pertaining to zoning and subdivision regulations, processing of annexation requests, and processing of commercial, industrial, and residential urban projects through a variety of regulatory agencies. Additional responsibilities will include coordinating and participating in project presentations to clients, the public, and other external groups.

Qualified candidates for the Senior and Associate Planner positions must have both current- and long-range planning experience, including CEQA compliance, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously and independently.

Typically, candidates for the Assistant Planner positions would possess a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in planning or a closely related field, and at least one year of progressively responsible planning experience.  Candidates for the Associate Planner positions would have at least have three years of planning experience, and at least five years of experience for the Senior Planner positions.

Web Developer/Programmer

Our Rancho Cordova, California team is seeking a Web Developer to assist with new and ongoing web projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Web Developer will be an integral part of PMC’s web team using both Kentico and WordPress content management systems to craft and handover small and large websites for agencies and municipalities.  The Web Developer may be involved in all steps of our process from providing technical input on prototypes, responsive wireframes, and interactive element boards, to building server-side programming into master pages, templates, and custom document types.  The Web Developer will assist or take a lead in crafting custom database solutions, interactive games, ecommerce/online bill pay, data-driven maps, online learning modules and anything else that our clients need.  The Web Developer will also assist in server, systems, and domain maintenance and management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, code, and test web applications using concise and well written C# programming
  • Develop extensible templates, responsive layouts, sublayouts, widgets, custom content types and reports in CMS’s
  • Assist in scoping new web projects and developing innovative solutions for clients
  • Remain up to date on current best practices, techniques, and technologies in order to make recommendations
  • Participate in all aspects of website development as part of the web team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience developing in C# ASP.NET and MSSQL. 
  • Experience with one or more ASP.Net CMS solutions
  • High level understanding of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS) and key components of WEB 2.0 architecture (AJAX, Social Networking, Blogs, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating third party APIs and web applications
  • Strong interest in emerging technologies 
  • Experience with PHP and MySQL a plus
  • Experience with web analytics and reporting
  • Experience with Kentico and WordPress
