We develop strategies that preserve high-priority land. Deciding how to allocate limited resources is an essential part of land conservation. We help our clients engage stakeholders, establish priorities and land preservation strategies, and craft long-term implementation and stewardship plans. Solano County Agricultural Conservation Easement Plan Solano County was challenged with developing strategies to identify and conserve viable agricultural land. Working closely with county farmers and ranchers, members of the Conservation and Resource Planning Group developed guidelines for evaluating agricultural lands, an acquisition and funding strategy, a model conservation easement, and tactics for preserving and protecting farmland. The Solano Land Trust has secured numerous conservation easements using the acquisition strategy and evaluation guidelines.
