Ranch Cordova, CA (November 14, 2011) Responding to increased demand from local governments in Southern California for additional community planning resources, PMC is pleased to announce that Mark Teague, Principal Planner, has been appointed to head the company’s San Diego office and grow the Southern California operation.
Despite the recession, over the past two years there has been a marked increase in the number of RFP’s and projects generated from Southern California municipalities. This is due largely in part to the area’s expanding population base and the need for services to plan and support these growing communities.
“Local government’s facing budget or manpower shortfalls are increasingly turning to contract staffing as a short term solution to fill the gaps in local planning departments” said Teague, PMC Principal. “Our core business model is designed around providing a drop-in, drop-out solution in order to give the planning department’s the flexibility to continue providing service to residents.”
“In addition to providing additional resources to help complete projects, there are a number of other benefits that PMC’s services bring to planning departments,” said Teague. “These include a transfer of intellectual capital and best practices to the municipal team, and an ability to bring our company’s resources to bear to secure grant funding for planning departments and offset costs.”
Teague brings over 25 years of planning experience with communities throughout California. Prior to moving to San Diego, Mark successfully managed PMC’s Chico and Mt. Shasta operation, growing the office 20% over seven years and establishing PMC as a resource for area planning departments.
“We’re very proud to have Mark lead the charge for us in San Diego,” said Phil Carter, PMC CEO. “His extensive experience managing complex projects for both the private and public sector, allows him to see of both sides of the development equation. These traits and will make him an invaluable asset to our clients in Southern California and to growing the company.”
With the expected increase in demand for contract planners, PMC plans to grow their Southern California presence to 50 practitioners over the next several years.
