Single-family, Multi-family, and Non-residential Citywide Design Guidelines
City of Elk Grove
In 2004, PMC prepared Citywide Design Guidelines for single-family, multi-family, and non-residential development throughout the City of Elk Grove. The PMC team worked with stakeholder groups, decision-makers, and other interested persons to create a user-friendly tool that achieves the City’s design objectives while providing design flexibility for the development community. Guidelines include the implementation of smart growth and livable communities concepts in a meaningful way. The document is well illustrated with “do this” and “don’t do this” photos and illustrations to clearly illustrate the intent of the guidelines. The Design Guidelines have been used successfully since adoption to establish a design review process that encourages high-quality architecture and site design.
